Whether you are climbing or taking the Gondola the Coronet Peak XC is an epic trail with breathtaking views across the Wakatipu Basin.
For those riding up it begins from the Coronet Peak base building (near the magic carpet / beginner area). Riders need to be aware that Bikes are allowed both ways on the trail.
The descent rewards you with a fun combination of berms, flowing singletrack, and the occasional technical section (but not too technical thanks to it’s blue, intermediate level).
The trail traces alpine ridgelines with sweeping views over the Wakatipu Basin, giving it a dramatic, high-country feel that sets it apart from many lower mountain rides. Coronet XC is also well positioned to link into bigger rides by connecting with trails like Dirt Serpent, Rude Rock or Corotown.
